Summer & year-round internships
QuidelOrtho summer and year-round internships offer current undergraduate and graduate students valuable hands-on experience in their chosen fields, helping them bridge the gap between academic knowledge and real-world applications. Our internships are meant to enhance resumes and build essential skills, such as teamwork and communication, but also provide networking opportunities that can lead to future career opportunities. We view our internships as a vital step in professional development, allowing individuals to explore career paths and gain insights into QuidelOrtho.
Finance leadership and development
This program provides an in-depth, hands-on learning experience in core finance functions. It’s a two-year program with two rotations across our San Diego, Raritan and Rochester sites. The finance analyst will receive continuous learning opportunities building for core business and leadership capabilities, plus biannual trainings will provide additional learning opportunities in a more structured environment. This program provides early career exposure to senior management and ongoing mentorship relationships.
Field engineer associate program
The goal of this two-year program is to provide participants with training, mentorship and hands-on experience in the field engineer career track. This program serves as a predecessor to the field engineer role at QuidelOrtho. The training for the Associate field engineer program consists of three phases:
Phase 1- The first phase includes training on how to service our equipment at our training facilities.
Phase 2- The second phase includes working with an experienced field engineer to learn the day-to-day responsibilities of being in a field service role.
Phase 3- The third phase allows the associate to demonstrate that they can successfully perform duties on their own.
Sales associate program
The purpose of our sales associate program is to build a strong pipeline of talent for our account management opportunities across the U.S. and ability to promote our internal talent.
Sales associates increase our talent pool by having employees ready and capable of assuming customer relationship roles in order to meet revenue and profitability goals.
Graduates of the sales associate program will support needs of the field sales team and assume account management responsibilities and manage sales of all QuidelOrtho products to the hospital, clinic, physician office lab and urgent care market within assigned geographic territory.
Field application associate program
The QuidelOrtho field application training program is designed to provide an optimal mix of in-depth on-the-job training and learning and development experiences in QuidelOrtho’s clinical laboratory, immunohematology, molecular and other business units. After successfully completing training, individuals will be placed in an open role within their technical region.
Apprenticeship - EMEA
Our apprenticeship opportunities are typically three-to four-year programs that combine work experience with academic learning. Applicants follow a structured training plan designed to lead to technical certifications, credentials or a degree. In addition to hands-on functional training, the program also offers professional development opportunities. At the end of the program, we aim to help applicants secure permanent employment contracts within the organization.
Department of Defense (DoD) SkillBridge program
The DoD SkillBridge program is an opportunity for service members to gain valuable civilian work experience through specific industry training, apprenticeships or internships during their last 180 days of service. The DoD SkillBridge program connects transitioning service members with industry partners in real-world job experiences.
QuidelOrtho was approved as a DoD SkillBridge partner in May 2024.
