The D3 Double Duet DFA Respiratory Virus Screening & ID Kit is intended for the qualitative detection and identification of influenza A, while screening for influenza B virus, adenovirus and parainfluenza virus types 1, 2 and 3 viral antigens (Reagent 1) and the qualitative detection and identification of respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) and metapneumovirus (hMPV) (Reagent 2) in nasal and nasopharyngeal swabs and aspirates or in cell culture. The assay detects viral antigens by immunofluorescence using monoclonal antibodies (MAbs), from patients with signs and symptoms of respiratory infection. The kit includes two stains, one filter, four rapid results with two fluorescent tags (R-phycoerythrin (R-PE) and fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC)) for optimal laboratory efficiency.
